Charles Haddon Spurgeon, (1834-1892), started preaching at the age of 15. He married Susannah Thompson in 1856, and their twin sons, Thomas and Charles, were born on September 20, 1857. He was a Reformed Baptist and defended the 1689 London Baptist Confession of Faith. He is still lovingly known as “The Prince of Preachers,” and his sermons are among the best in Christian literature.
