I believe this frantic search for entertainment is a symptom of something deeper. Some have suggested we are the most bored generation in history—and perhaps they are right. Down inside is an empty place in our hearts—a restlessness, a search for inner peace and tranquility—that will not go away. The irony is, the more we try to satisfy it, the less content we become. Only Christ can fill that empty space in our hearts, and He will as we open our lives to Him. But God’s Word also points us to the future—to Heaven, where our restless hearts will be at peace. “There remains, therefore, a rest for the people of God.

I will buy you back with My blood because I love you. I will free you from the chains of sin. I will settle the conflict within and give peace to your soul. But you must come to Me with a repentant heart. You must be willing to be redeemed. You must exchange your sin-blackened heart for a new heart that is cleansed by My blood.

Hundreds of philosophies and scores of religions have been invented to circumvent the Word of God. Modern philosophers and psychologists are still trying to make it appear that there is some way out other than the path of Jesus.

I believe this is one of the tests of the Spirit-filled life. Is Christ becoming more and more evident in my life? Are people seeing more of Him, and less of me?

Peter preached about [the blood]. Paul wrote about it, and the redeemed in heaven sing about it. In a sense, the New Testament is the Book of the Blood.
