There are obstacles to evangelism everywhere—digital noise, politics, scandal, cultural Christianity. We seek to be like the men in Mark 2, who saw a brother in need and did whatever it took to get him to the feet of Jesus. Lord, stir us to be this bold.

I believe that we live in a culture today that is one of the most divided and adversarial in American history. However, for a Christian, the goal has not changed, and we still need to be led by the Spirit to know how Jesus would navigate these divisions and all the animosity that goes with them. Fortunately for us, we don't have to guess or pick sides on this answer, because our text will make it clear for all of us today regardless of what side of the issues we may be standing on.
