2. Jesus’ essential message 4:17 (cf. Mark 1:14-15; Luke 4:14-15)The clause "From that time Jesus" (Gr. apo tote epxato Iesous) is very significant in Matthew’s Gospel. The writer used it only twice, here and in Matthew 16:21, and in both instances it indicates a major change in Jesus’ ministry.
