Word of God.—Either (1) the personal Word, the Λόγος; or (2) the revealed word, to which the writer has been appealing; or (3) the spoken word of God, which may come to men through human agents now. Probably the second is the more preferable explanation, because to this writer Scripture is constantly thought of as a direct Divine utterance.
