15. The Lord God The proper object of fear, as opposed to terror. The passage is from Isaiah 8:12-13. Tregelles, Tischendorf, Alford, and Wordsworth read Christ for God, the last two translating “sanctify Christ as the Lord.” But it is rather Christ who is the Lord, the Lord Christ, whom they are instructed to sanctify.
