Psal 18:2 The LORD [is] my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, [and] my high tower. {my strength: Heb. my rock}
The Lord is not only a Rock upon which we may stand and meet every testing and trial, but he is also a "Fortress" --- a place where we are protected and safe from our enemies. We can HIDE in Him. [Col 3.3] We can rest on His Bosom. No enemy can attack us when we are "Safe in the arms of Jesus; safe on His gentle Breast." Let us learn how always to flee to Him in times of danger and distress, remembering that, "The Name of the Lord is a Strong Tower; the righteous runneth into it and are safe."
Lord, help us to avail ourselves of the privilege of resting in Thee, our "Fortress." Amen.
