The affairs of the nations are not something for the politicians alone. They must also be the concern of religious leaders because "righteousness exalteth a nation: but sin is a reproach to any people" (Proverbs 14:34). Let us not drift into the election in our nation in November without sensing the seriousness of the days to which we have come. God is a God of nations. All rational people believe that God holds individuals accountable for their acts. But few realize that God holds nations also to a strict accountability for their actions. The United States must be responsible to God. Godliness and integrity are so rapidly slipping away from our people that abject tragedy awaits us unless the downward trend is halted! God’s people must awake! We must dare to stand up and be counted. We must recognize there is a battle on in America--a battle to the death! It is a battle between righteousness and truth and the Kingdom of God on one hand and wicked forces on the other. Do not misunderstand me! The weapons of our warfare are not carnal. They are spiritual, but the neglect of them means the loss of our beloved land. Where are the burdened men who will cry ceaselessly to God until He bares His mighty arm? Where are the prophets who, fearing neither men nor devils, will stand and warn and plead until the nation, by God’s power, is turned from its disobedient march to doom? God has always met a nation on its knees. The urgency of doom must bring us together to seek the Lord until He comes and rains righteousness upon us. America has put on its money, "In God We Trust." Our Constitution was forged in prayer. This God-founded nation had better get away from its looseness and get back to the Word of God. Every nation must answer to God for its acts of unrighteousness. We love our native land. We love America! That is why we speak out as we do.
