word for law - testimonies; the last verse of the 19th section - KOPH; Concerning Thy testimonies - in speaking with God, David tells the Lord his own thoughts about His Word; Notice the pronoun in reference to God's testimonies, 'Thy'. It is not our Word; It is not the Baptist or the Methodist 's Word; It is not anyone's Word, except the Lord God Almighty. 'Thy Word is a lamp unto my feet, Thy Word is a light to my path' Thy Word. It's Thy Word, O Lord. 'Concerning' or 'in regards to' or 'Regarding' Thy Word. He is getting ready to make a statement about it. What concerns you? 'Concerning Thy testimonies. . . ' how would you finish this phrase? What does His word mean to you? what does it mean to the church? Oh, I know that the world thinks of it; I know what lost men think of it; I even know what the Christians and the church shoudl think of it; but is that the truth of all such things regarding His Word? I know that the church and many Christians do not even regard HIs Word. They go weeks upon weeks without handling it, without reading, never memorizing it. And over in other countries that don't even have a whole Bible, they would give anything to have what we have in freedom, access adn study of Thy Word. DAvid BRainerd, lying on his death bed, saw his brother bring in the Bible to read to him from it. He said, 'O blessed Book; that Blessed Book'. 'Concerning Thy testimonies. . . it is a blessed Book to me'. Teach me more, give me more, help me more to preach it, live it and tell of it.
