"Plead my cause, and deliver me: quicken me according to Thy word."
word for law - word; Plead my cause and deliver me - back to back verses of this same petition for deliverance; Where else is there deliverance but the Lord? There is none else to help us but Him. He, and He alone is able to deliver. What is unique about this prayer unto the Lord is the first part, 'Plead my cause.' David is asking the Lord to become directly involved on his behalf. What better advocate is there? Stand up for me and declare that I have been rightoues is what David is saying. If there be fault found, declare it; but if no fault then plead my just cause. David has alluded throughout this Psalm that the wicked have set their eyes on him for his destruction. What was their reason? There was none. There was no given reason for them to hate him so.
Thus, it is with every Christian in the worled today, we are targeted, not because of what we have done but Whose we are. Do good, be kind, help, love and it is rewarded with contempt and hate. Christ Himself went about doing good, in feeding the hungry, healing the sicke, saving the lost and teaching the Word of God and they killed HIm. He, Who was innocent, guilty of nothng, yet charged and condemned to the cross. He, Who knew no sin, became sin for us. The Lord God Almighty is righteous in all His ways. Let the Righteous One plead our cause. Can He not do the best job on our behalf? If God be for us, who can be against us?
