With brothers who desire to be 100% Biblically minded and honouring to the Lord there seems to be a lack of desire to seek the work of the Holy Spirit because of excesses seen in many circles of Christendom.
Here is a quote on this theme from the Principles Book:
"For many there is a hesitancy to speak much of depending radically on the moving of the Holy Spirit366. For many sincere Bible believing Christians this terminology brings to mind many excesses of the worst kinds - whether it's the selfish seeking after the Spirit of God for a feeling367 , an anointing to enjoy for ourselves368, some sort of extravagant healing such as gold in the teeth or other blatant extra-biblical manifestations that grieve the heart of God. The Devil our enemy makes a Pseudo369 of the genuine in attempts to deceive370 some and deter others. Some in these charismatic circles claim the Chinese church is experiencing the same manifestations, but this is not true."

Footnotes:
366 In the book of Acts the Church was birthed, led, sustained and grew in the power of the Holy Spirit.
367 2 Timothy 3:4
368 Acts 8:18-19
369 2 Corinthians 11:15
370 Matthew 24:24
Let us again seek a new work of the Holy Spirit in our midst and not put God in a box in our assemblies.
Be the first to react on this!

“Christianity was birthed in the Baptism of the Holy Spirit and will only continue as we have this empowering from above. God is always looking for the willing vessels that will trust Him afresh for the impossible.” from: Principles for the gathering of Believers under the Headship of Jesus Christ.Since 2012, a growing group of believers in North America started to warn of coming persecution to western countries. This message was shared in a variety of ways. One of the responses to this was to compile a book taking principles from underground Churches around the world of how they thrived under pressure and persecution. The volume, Principles for the Gathering of Believers, had in a short time over 50,000 downloads in ebook format and much interest was shown. Some new house churches started through this and other existing groups were encouraged.
