One More Year to Live
by Frieda Hait
On the last Sunday in December our pastor gave a message entitled "One More Year to Live". I thought on what he said. He gave suggestions. What would you do if you were told you had only one more year to live? There were several things that came to my mind. These were the things that became very, very important to me.
One of the things is that I would pray more. At my home church I am the coordinator of the Prayer Team. I often am able to stand in front of our ladies, and one of the things that I am very burdened for is that women pray, pray, pray for their children, pray for their husbands, pray, pray, pray for revival.
The other thing is that I would make a more serious effort to become better acquainted with my Lord and His Word. You know we are going to spend all eternity with the Lord and I want to become better acquainted with Him.
And the third thing, would you believe it, I would try to order my life that after I am gone there would be things in which I had a part which would live on. I would love it if some of my songs lived on, my poetry, when people think of me. When I'm gone I trust that they would remember of me that I was a praying person, and a caring person.
Be the first to react on this!
