Peace
by John McGregor
The Gospel of Luke tells us that on the night of Christ's birth, an angel appeared to shepherds who were watching over their flocks. He told them of the birth of a Saviour. "Suddenly, there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and saying: Glory to God in the highest and on earth peace, goodwill toward men!"
Isaiah calls Him the Prince of Peace. He provides true peace, peace to him who is far off and to him who is near, says Isaiah 57:19.
In a world torn with wars and strife with grief and pain, do you have this peace? He came to bring us peace! Many who claim to belong to Christ have no peace today, sin has caused them pain and bitterness. When we make a second trip to the cross to deal with the self life, we discover One who loves us so deeply that He takes all that pain and grants us daily peace through the ministry and enabling of His Holy Spirit.
This Christmas I encourage you to find the time for personal revival. We need to seek His Presence and Power in our lives. It begins by humbling ourselves and drawing near to God where He can show us our need to walk in the Light, walk in the Truth, and make Him Lord.
Be the first to react on this!
