PREPARATION IN PRAYER by John McGregor ISAIAH 33:3 At the thunder of your voice, the peoples flee; when you rise up, the nations scatter. Some churches prepare for meetings by putting an organization structure in place. While this can be helpful it brings no power to the meetings themselves. If we want to have the presence of God in the meetings then the greatest work which we can do is to pray. Pray for hearts which are ready to meet with God; hearts which are soft and sensitive to the Holy Spirit. The first and most necessary preparation is of our hearts. If we want to see a corporate revival it must begin with a personal revival. It can begin with a renewed hunger to meet the Lord in prayer. Pray for the overwhelming presence of God in the meetings. While it is valuable to have a team from Revival Fellowship they cannot bring Revival in the suitcase – we must have His presence. Otherwise we will experience resistance to the preaching of the Word. Pray at least once a week – corporately. It is vital to set aside a time for people to seek the Lord. Sometimes mornings, sometimes lunch time, sometimes an evening is best. Involve the intercessors from your congregation in this ministry. Pray specifically against the forces of evil. Pray specifically for the souls of the lost. Pray specifically for recognition and healing in relationships. Invite the Holy Spirit to come and take control of His church and of these meetings. Use this prayer guide daily to help prepare your own heart as well as your church for the upcoming revival meetings. God invites us to call to Him – He promises to answer and He promises to show us mighty things. God bless you as you pray.
