Take 40 Days
by Charlene Lutzer
The Bible is clear that God considers 40 days a spiritual significant time period.
Whenever God wanted to prepare someone for His purposes. He took 40 days.
Noah – 40 days in the Ark
Moses – 40 days Mt. Sinai
Spies – 40 days in the Promised Land
Elijah – 40 days on a single meal
Nineveh – 40 days to change
Jesus – 40 days in the wilderness
40 Days is not a magic time, it's a time of endurance and testing. But so productive – personally and for the need that is laid before the Lord on Day 1.
It's not
a time to get God's attention, but for Him to get your attention
to instruct God about the need and how He's to go about doing it.
40 Days is a time of:
waiting on God
focusing – getting God's face in focus
saying God's Word back to Him; one Psalm, one other scripture or a theme of Scriptures
fasting - from a lot of other reading
For - His Name's sake
this is the issue
not my need, my love one or the church's need
Success at the end will be for His Name's sake
Revival is whenever God moves into our circumstances and lives and we know beyond the shadow of a doubt it is His Work.
If you choose to spend the 40 days in one Psalm –
Often the Psalm talks about people being the enemy, the one chasing – these are the mighty enemy host – never do battle against a person but always against the enemy who is the stronghold.
Be the first to react on this!
