WHICH GOVERNMENT ARE YOU UNDER?

"He shall be called wonderful counselor, the mighty God, the everlasting Father, the Prince of Peace." Isaiah 9:6b.
With all of the sad and difficult problems in our world, so many broken lives and shattered dreams, is there any hope? Storms, and earthquakes, disasters claiming hundreds of thousands of lives all around the world, is there anyone who can understand the deep hurts of human hearts? YES! HIS NAME IS JESUS.
Just think with me for a moment - those who are in Christ can have a deep and intimate victorious walk with Him. He is close enough to give us wonderful counsel and He will never guide us wrong. He is the mighty God, no storm will ever overcome Him and no circumstances can come to us that He cannot help and heal us. He is the everlasting Father, our times are in His hands. No matter what issues we face He is our source and provider, our protector and in Christ our friend. Do you need the love of a Father this Christmas? He has a love for you that is so deep it goes all the way to the Cross of Calvary! He is the prince of peace, His peace is not shattered by disasters or difficulties. Jesus said "My peace I give unto you, not as the world gives, do I give unto you, let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid." John 14:27.
Why is it then, that so many Christians are defeated and empty, disappointed with God and with life? Well, the first part of the verse quoted above says this "for unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given and the GOVERNMENT shall be unto his shoulder." Vs. 6a. You see the problem is not with Jesus, the problem is who is in GOVERNMENT of your life? Are you in charge, or is Christ in charge? In Romans 6:11 we are told "reckon yourselves to be dead indeed to sin, but alive to God through Jesus Christ our Lord." If we are dead to self in Christ, then He is living His life through us. He has the GOVERNMENT.
What a joy filled Christmas season it would be if we were fully surrendered to the Lordship of Jesus Christ. Does He have the government of every area of your life? We all want a Wonderful Counselor, a Mighty God, an Everlasting Father and the Prince of Peace to help us and to protect us, to look after us and bless us. Yet, so many lives are frustrated and empty today because they have failed to give the government of their hearts and minds to Jesus Christ.
Dear Lord Jesus, thank you for all the things which you can bring to my life, forgive me Lord, because I have wanted to control my life and control you. This moment I give you the government of all that I am and all that I will ever be. Lord, I come in complete surrender and ask you to live your life through me, so that all will see Christ in me the hope of glory. Amen.
