Read & Study the Bible Online - Bible Portal
John Wycliff was a great English scholar and Bible student, and conceived the plan of translating the entire Bible into the common English language. He did the New Testament by 1380 and much more before his death. His work rested solely on the Vulgate Bible of Jerome. Wyclif, along with Jan Huss and a few others, can rightly be called the pre-reformers. His many followers after his death in 1384 were called Lollards, and they completed his work, published in 1388.
