I have a friend who went to pastor a small church. The name of the town was Shanghai, Mo. It wasn't long until the church was smaller than when he began.
In fact it finally got to the place where his congregation on Sunday morning
was one old lady. His uncle and I were talking about this and I mentioned that
I wondered what the problem was. He looked at me for a moment and then said,
"He can't preach. All he does is give book reports on Zane Grey novels. I
know I've read the books."
