After Ahlwen emigrated to the United States, she studied at the Moody Bible Institute in Chicago, Illinois, and became an evangelist in the Swedish community in Chicago and, later, across America. She continued her ministry after marrying businessman Daniel A. Sundeen. She retired in Manchester, New Hampshire.
