Daily Light on the Daily Path or Daily Light is a Christian daily devotional scripture reading published by Bagster & Sons about 1875. It has been reprinted continually since then. It consists of brief groupings of scripture passages which speak to prominent Biblical themes—two themes (morning and evening) for each day of the year. It appends no commentary, but simply allows scripture to speak for itself.

Morning Daily Light

 “Be strong … and work; for I am with  you,” says the Lord of hosts. 

The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit, a broken and a contrite heart— these, O God, You will not despise. § He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds. § Thus says the High and Lofty One who inhabits eternity, whose name is Holy: “I dwell in the high and holy place, with him who has a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite ones. For I will not contend forever, nor will I always be angry; for the spirit would fail before Me, and the souls which I have made.” I will seek what was lost and bring back what was driven away, bind up the broken and strengthen what was sick. § Therefore strengthen the hands which hang down, and the feeble knees, and make straight paths for your feet, so that what is lame may not be dislocated, but rather be healed. § Behold, your God … will come and save you.

 A bruised reed He will not break. 

Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand. § Strengthen the weak hands, and make firm the feeble knees. Behold, your God will come with vengeance, with the recompense of God; He will come and save you.” § The Lord your God in your midst, the Mighty One, will save; He will rejoice over you with gladness, He will quiet you in His love, He will rejoice over you with singing. § Wait on the Lord; be of good courage, and He shall strengthen your heart. I heard a loud voice from heaven saying, “Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and He will dwell with them, and they shall be His people. God Himself will be with them and be their God. And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain.”

 The Lord ... is in your midst. 

Be of good courage, and let us be strong for our people and for the cities of our God. And may the Lord do what is good in His sight. § We made our prayer to our God, and … set a watch against them day and night. Not everyone who says to Me, “Lord, Lord,” shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. § If anyone wills to do His will, he shall know concerning the doctrine, whether it is from God. § Let us know, let us pursue the knowledge of the Lord. Watch and pray, lest you enter into temptation. § Watch, stand fast in the faith, be brave, be strong. § Not lagging in diligence, fervent in spirit, serving the Lord. Strengthen the weak hands, and make firm the feeble knees. Say to those who are fearful-hearted, “Be strong, do not fear!”
