Daily Light on the Daily Path or Daily Light is a Christian daily devotional scripture reading published by Bagster & Sons about 1875. It has been reprinted continually since then. It consists of brief groupings of scripture passages which speak to prominent Biblical themes—two themes (morning and evening) for each day of the year. It appends no commentary, but simply allows scripture to speak for itself.

Morning Daily Light

 Wash me thoroughly from my iniquity. 

Not unto us, O Lord, not unto us, but to Your name give glory. § Lord, when did we see You hungry and feed You, or thirsty and give You drink? § In lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than himself. § Be clothed with humility. [Jesus] was transfigured before them. His face shone like the sun, and His clothes became as white as the light. § All who sat in the council, looking steadfastly at [Stephen], saw his face as the face of an angel. § The glory which You gave Me I have given them. § We all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord. Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lamp-stand, and it gives light to all who are in the house.

 Moses did not know that the skin of hisface shone while he talked with Him. 

A new and living way which He consecrated for us. § Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit, whom He poured out on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Savior. § For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast. Not unto us, O Lord, not unto us, but to Your name give glory. § To Him who loved us and washed us from our sins in His own blood, and has made us kings and priests to His God and Father, to Him be glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen. § You were slain, and have redeemed us to God by Your blood out of every tribe and tongue and people and nation. § I looked, and behold, a great multitude which no one could number … crying out with a loud voice, saying, “Salvation belongs to our God who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb!”

Evening Daily Light

 They sang as it were a new song. 

Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom, let not the mighty man glory in his might, nor let the rich man glory in his riches; but let him who glories glory in this, that he understands and knows Me, that I am the Lord. I also count all things loss for the excellence of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord, for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and count them as rubbish, that I may gain Christ. § I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes. § I have reason to glory in Christ Jesus in the things which pertain to God. Whom have I in heaven but You? And there is none upon earth that I desire besides You. § My heart rejoices in the Lord … I rejoice in Your salvation. Not unto us, O Lord, not unto us, but to Your name give glory, because of Your mercy, because of Your truth.

 He who glories, let him glory in the Lord. 

The Lord reigns, He is clothed with majesty … Your throne is established from of old; You are from everlasting. The Lord is … great in power. § If God is for us, who can be against us? § Our God whom we serve is able to deliver us … and He will deliver us. § My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of My Father’s hand. § He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world. Not unto us, O Lord, not unto us, but to Your name give glory. § Yours, O Lord, is the greatness, the power and the glory, the victory and the majesty; for all that is in heaven and in earth is Yours; Yours is the kingdom, O Lord, and You are exalted as head over all … Now therefore, our God, we thank You and praise Your glorious name. But who am I, and who are my people, that we should be able to offer so willingly as this? For all things come from You, and of Your own we have given You.

 Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever.
