I Must Decrease

We live in a world that is constantly vying for our attention. Everywhere we look, there are distractions pulling us away from what truly matters. But as believers, we are called to something higher. We are called to not follow the ways of the world, but to pursue God. 
 
And the beautiful thing is, when we do this, we find that our souls are refreshed and renewed. We find that the things of this world grow strangely dim, and that we are able to more fully experience the love, joy, and peace that comes from a deep relationship with Jesus Christ.

The End Is Near

Life is short. We never know when our time on this earth will come to an end. It is a sobering thought, but one that we must hold onto tightly if we are to live lives that honor and glorify our God. 
 
So often, we get caught up in the distractions of this world. We pursue success, comfort, and pleasure, as if these things will somehow bring us lasting joy and fulfillment. But the reality is that all of these things are temporary. They will pass away, and we will be left with nothing.

God Rejoices Over Us | Francis Chan

We are called to keep our focus on that which is eternal. We are called to seek after the things of God, and to store up treasures in heaven, rather than on earth. 
 
But how do we keep our eyes fixed on the eternal, when there are so many distractions vying for our attention? 
 
The key is to make Christ the center of our lives. We must seek after Him with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength. We must daily surrender our will to His, and allow Him to guide our every step. 
 
We must also be intentional about surrounding ourselves with other believers who share our desire to keep our focus on the eternal. We need people in our lives who will encourage us, challenge us, and hold us accountable. 
 
And finally, we must be diligent in prayer and in the study of God's Word. These are the tools that God has given us to help us stay focused on the eternal. They are the keys to unlocking the wisdom and discernment we need to navigate this life with purpose and meaning. 
 
Keep your focus on the eternal. Don't be swayed by the temporary pleasures and distractions of this world. Instead, seek after the things of God, and trust Him to guide you every step of the way.
