In this passage Paul talks about himself, Timothy, and Epaphroditus. He gives these three as examples on what it looks like to live like a Philippian (Christian). 
 
Question: Thinking of the text and people in your own life, who has been a godly example for you to follow, what was it about them that made you want to follow them?

Whose been an example to you? Philippians 2:17-30

Paul gives the Philippians, for him live=Christ and die=gain. It's a choice to live for Christ. Interestingly, Paul tells us the best choice isn't always the path we want to take. The best choice is the one that brings Christ the maximum glory.

2. Are you willing to live your life in a way that brings God maximum glory, even when it takes away our comfort? What keeps us from living that way?

Paul continues instruction on not judging. Today, instead of thinking about those guys judging, think about us (me/you) judging. Paul tells us it's not okay to destroy the work of God for food. Maybe it's not food, but some other preference. 
 
Questions: 
1. What might a more mature believer avoid to keep someone from stumbling? 
2. How might we help a less mature brother grow so that they no longer believe that "thing" is sinful?

Remember, we're saved by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone. We have no reason for arrogance in salvation.
