INTRODUCTION
It is always exciting to see someone or a group of people come to Jesus! It's beautiful and encouraging to see them grow and develop in the Word of God as they continue their relationship with Jesus. There are some that don’t understand all that is involved in their new walk, yet they sense something meaningful is going on in their mind, spirit, and soul!

When a soul is baptized in the name of Jesus and filled with the Holy Ghost speaking in tongues their behavior and heart reflect Jesus Christ. They have such a great hunger for the Word of God, and they begin immediately pulling away from sin. Here’s a nugget: Followers of Jesus were first called “Christians” in Antioch. Acts 11:26 says, “And the disciples were called Christians first in Antioch."

An important aspect of being a Christian involves the element of “faith". When someone responds to the gospel it is a reflection of their faith in Jesus as Lord, Savior, and God. Those who obeyed the gospel are found "faithful to the Lord". Acts 16:15; Colossians 1:2. Christians are referred to as "the household of faith". Galatians 6:10

"Faith" in JESUS is the underlying principle of all the Christian's conduct. It is fundamental to our salvation in Christ Romans 1:16-17. The Scripture reads, “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:” Ephesians 2:8. When anyone comes to Jesus on a repented heart and is washed of their sins. They become a New Creation in Christ Jesus through baptism and the Holy Ghost. It’s very joyous to see them grow in grace and in faith! Ephesians 4: 15 But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ:

A NEW CREATION
A CHRISTIAN IS A "NEW CREATION".
A Christian rises out of the watery grave of baptism in the name of Jesus and of the Holy Ghost speaking in tongues to walk in the newness of life. Acts 2:38; Romans 6:4-5
Old things have passed away, and new things have come. 2 Corinthians 5:17

A NEW CREATION MADE POSSIBLE BY VIRTUE OF A NEW BIRTH.
A new birth produced by water and baptism and the working of the Spirit of God. John 3:3-5; Titus 3:5-7

THIS NEW CREATION EMBARKS ON A LIFE OF RENEWAL. The inner man is to be renewed daily. 2 Corinthians 4:16 This renewal is ongoing, involving the renewal of one's mind. Romans 12:2

A NEW LIFE HAVING PASSED FROM DEATH TO LIFE. As Jesus promised to those who hear and are baptized and washed of their sins shall be saved. Mark 16:16; John 5:24-25. Once dead in sin, we are now made alive in Jesus through baptism. Ephesians 2:1-5; Colossians 2:12-13. We now have the promise and prospect of life eternal, given through God's Son. 1 John 5:11-13

HAVING PASSED FROM DARKNESS TO LIGHT.
Such is the objective of gospel preaching: to turn people from the sinful darkness of this world to the Light of Jesus Christ; from sin to godliness, goodness, holiness, and righteousness, joy and truth that is in Jesus Christ. Acts 26:18; 1 Peter 2:9-10; Ephesians 5:9. Though we once walked in darkness, we can now walk in the light. Walking now as children of light. Ephesians 5:8; 1Thessalonians 5:5

A NEW LOYALTY
A CHRISTIAN IS A "CONVERTED" SINNER
From serving sin to serving JESUS THE ONLY TRUE GOD Romans 6:16-18
They stop serving idols of the flesh and the world to serving and seeking Jesus and HIS RIGHTEOUSNESS. 1 Thessalonians 1:9

SUCH LOYALTY TO CHRIST RESULTS IN A NEW LIFE WHEN A PERSON SURRENDERS THEIR SOUL, BODY, MIND, SPIRIT TO JESUS. Above family, life, and self, the Christian chooses to follow Jesus. Matthew 10:37-39

CONCLUSION
A significant thing about BECOMING A NEW CREATION IN JESUS. There are great benefits and eternal promises! The Holy Ghost gives the new convert POWER TO DO THE LORD’S WILL AND THIS PERSON KEEP GROWING STRONGER AND STRONGER IN LOVE AND SHARING THE WORD OF THE LORD! The power of the Word of the Bible, as applied, increases in the convert's heart as they grow from day today. Pleasing fruits will grow in the believer’s life as they submit daily in worship, reading the Word, fasting, obedience, prayer, helping, and loving others. Colossians 2:12-13. Yes, some have fallen away but there are the millions of Christians that have to remain steadfast in their faith in the Lord Jesus and they are walking in the promises of God that come from accepting Jesus as Lord and Savior! This is, "THE SIGNIFICANCE OF BEING A CHRISTIAN!"
