In recognizing the peaceful transition of power that occurred today in the White House, let us not lose sight of the power that is transferred every day--spiritually!

KEY LESSON QUESTIONS

• What power does God use to save man? The gospel of Christ (Romans 1:15-16)
• Walking to standing to sitting (spiritually), is this the right direction?

LESSON AT A GLANCE

• Jesus has all power (see Matthew 28:18)

• God the Father made it possible for mankind to be saved (see John 3:16-17)

• The peaceful transfer of power spiritually occurs every day (see John 1:12-13)

○ Jesus has made a transfer of power to anyone that receives him.

○ Believing is not enough--you have to receive Jesus.

○ "Received him" means to be born through the operation of God; you have obeyed the gospel... (see Acts 2:41; 1 Corinthians 15:1-4)

• Keep Moving... Hebrews 12:1-2

○ Despite what may be going on around us or the circumstances, may we continue to live by faith (see 2 Corinthians 5:7)

○ Hebrews 11 is known as the Hall of Faith--we have many examples that lived by faith cheering for us.

○ We must run the race with perseverance or patience--looking forward, not back.

○ We must stay in spiritual shape (see 1 Timothy 4:7-8)

○ Read the Word of God (see 1 Peter 2:2; Psalm 1:1-6; Psalm 19:7-11)

○ Spend Time in Prayer (see Hebrews 4:14-16; Philippians 4:6-7; Colossians 4:2)

○ Sing Praises (see Hebrews 13:15; Ephesians 5:19; Colossians 3:16)

○ Fellowship with Brethren (see Hebrews 3:12-14; Hebrews 10:24-25; Acts 20:7)
