For it is written, "And he said unto them, 'These are the words which I spake unto you, while I was yet with you, that all things must be fulfilled, which were written in the law of Moses, and in the prophets, and in the psalms, concerning me.' Then opened he their understanding, that they might understand the scriptures, And said unto them, 'Thus it is written, and thus it behooved Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day: And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.'"

LESSON AT A GLANCE

* The Kingdom Prophecied
Daniel declared to a pagan king that during the days of the Roman kings, the God of heaven would set up a kingdom that would never be destroyed (see Daniel 2:44).

Daniel also stated that the "Son of man" would pass through the clouds, come to the Ancient of days (God the Father), and be given an indestructible kingdom (see Daniel 7:13-14).

Daniel was informed: "The saints of the most high shall take the kingdom and possess the kingdom forever, even forever and ever" (see Daniel 7:18).

* Hebrews 12:28
○ "Wherefore we, receiving a kingdom which cannot be moved…"

○ Rather, “a kingdom that is unshakable,” destined to be around forever—an eternal institution.

○ Jesus has a spiritual kingdom…the church. Personal possession (ownership of the kingdom is clear).

* John 18:36
Jesus answered, My kingdom is not of this world: if my kingdom were of this world, then would my servants fight, that I should not be delivered to the Jews: but now is my kingdom not from hence.

○ The Kingdom (church of Christ) is HERE and we can be IN it!
