Paul continues in his admonition of the Galatians, reminding them of how they started well but are now 'falling away'. We are warned to avoid false teaching from any source, for it can destroy us and others surrounding us, though we remember that a true believer cannot permanently fall away. We are given the following reasons for avoiding false teachers and their doctrine:


* It side-tracks us in our Christian walk.
* The teaching does not come from Christ.
* The teaching may concern an apparently small matter, but like cancer it may spread and kill the whole body.
* Those who follow the teachers will face the same punishment as the teachers themselves.
* Such teachers are either deceivers or are deluded.
