Continuing his defense, Stephen demonstrates how the Jewish Council was behaving toward Jesus just like their forefathers had behaved toward Moses (who had told them to expect Jesus), by rejecting him at his first appearance and then again when he returned to deliver his people from their bondage.

Believers are encouraged to seek God for the spirit of Stephen, fearlessly declaring the Gospel before men. Unbelievers are assured that there is only one way of salvation and that is in the One of whom Moses spoke - the Lord Jesus Christ.
