God gave us everything we need through his Word.

It is written, "And spared not the old world, but saved Noah the eighth person, a preacher of righteousness, bringing in the flood upon the world of the ungodly; And turning the cities of Sodom and Gomorrha into ashes condemned them with an overthrow, making them an example unto those that after should live ungodly."

LESSON AT A GLANCE

• Complaining is the arch enemy of contentment.

• The only remedy for our salvation is the gospel of Jesus Christ, yet sadly so many choose not to obey or do it their own way.

• The Nature of God… Genesis 1:1; Malachi 3:6

○ God is not like man
○ God remembers his promise (see Genesis 9:11-15)
○ God created us for his workmanship
○ God does not change
○ Jesus is the same yesterday, today, and forever (see Hebrews 13:8)

• The Justice of God… Genesis 6:5-8

○ God saw what was going on before he destroyed the Earth
○ God's justice keeps us straight (see Romans 13)
○ We won't get away with anything
○ Because of sin, God destroyed man

• God's Grace and Mercy… Titus 2:11-13; Titus 3:3-7; John 3:16-17

○ Grace is getting something you don’t deserve; unmerited favor
○ The gift of grace is salvation
○ Salvation is possible for everybody
○ Mercy is not getting what you deserve
