Luke draws our attention to the character of Apollos and gives us, in effect, a short biography of his life in these few verses.
As we work through this passage, we see the many advantages that Apollos had, whether through natural or spiritual gifts or through the circumstances of his life. We see how he pressed all of these into service zealously for the Kingdom of Christ. Over all, we see the great advantage of being well-grounded in the Scriptures.
We are all urged and encouraged to identify our own gifts and graces and to develop them also so they may be used in service of our wonderful Savior.
