When Moses went up into the presence of the Lord on Mount Sinai, the Lord gave the first scripture written to His people. Before this, the Word had been passed down through the generations by word of mouth. We see:

* That this first written word was given by Christ
* Why it was important that Christ began to commit His word to writing at this point in history


We are challenged to value the scriptures and not take them for granted.
