We begin to see how the Lord used the Babylonian Captivity to prepare for the coming of His Son. We see:
*That the Lord used this event to cure His people once and for all from their idolatry -- which was the cause of the exile.
*That the Lord removed what was left of the glory of the Old Covenant to make way for the glory of the New.
*That by removing His people from the Land and dispersing them throughout the world, He prepared not only His people, but also the nations to receive the Gospel.

Everything the Lord does has a purpose, and He is even able to use the sins of His people and the judgment He brings on them to forward His righteous plans.

The Lord has also placed us in areas where we are to influence those around us with His Truth. We are challenged to be faithful in breaking ground, sowing seed, watering, and harvesting.
