Jesus came that we might know the Father, the True One. This True One who Jesus reveals is the True God and Eternal Life. Jesus is the way to the Father and Eternal Life because he, Jesus, is the Father's Word of Life. It is only through him that we can know the Father. "Father... this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only True God, and Jesus Christ whom You sent."
