A Prayer of the Day. “For the love of God is this, that we obey his commandments. And his commandments are not burdensome, for whatever is born of God conquers the world. And this is the victory that conquers the world, our faith.” (1 John 5:3-4 NRSV)

Dear Father, thank you for Advent, the time of waiting for Christmas. You sent your Beloved Son Jesus for our salvation. Jesus, thank you for showing us what the life of God’s child is like. You knew how much your Father loved you, so you loved him very much. In the same way, we are loved by the Father. Thank you Holy Spirit, that you made us children of God and let us call him “Abba, father.” There is nothing can separate us from the love of God. Love set us free to follow your word, Lord. Love makes us strong. Love guards our hearts from anger. Love keeps us from fight. Love drives us being salt and light. The light shines in the darkness. The light overcomes the darkness. In Jesus name. Amen.
