We live in such a privileged era. Though we complain about dangers and inconveniences, they are nothing compared to ancient times. Jonathan attacked a garrison of Philistines and it was certain they would retaliate. King Saul put out the word - every man needed to be prepared to defend his land!
We are afforded the opportunities to become educated, pursue a career and accumulate possession to a large extent because there are now people who voluntarily serve, sacrifice and often die in our place.
