Combatting the false doctrines concerning premillennialism.

It is written in Daniel 2:44, "And in the days of these kings shall the God of heaven set up a kingdom, which shall never be destroyed: and the kingdom shall not be left to other people, but it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand for ever."

KEY LESSON PRINCIPLES

* CLAIM:
Premillennialism is a teaching that when Jesus Christ comes again, he is bringing the kingdom with him, and will literally reign for 1000 years on Earth.

* BIBLICAL RESOLUTION:
It is resolved that the kingdom of God (church) is here right now. Christ is reigning on the throne right now. His throne is not on Earth. At his second coming, he's coming back to get his own!

* THE EVIDENCE:

I.) If Christ is bringing his kingdom to reign with him 1000-years, then what did God do when he set up his kingdom during the Roman Empire? (Daniel 2)

* John the Baptist mentions the kingdom is near... Matthew 3:1-2

* Jesus said the time has come, the kingdom is at hand. Repent ye and believe the gospel... Mark 1:5; Luke 10:9

* Jesus says some will still be alive when the kingdom comes with power... Mark 9:1
If the kingdom has yet to come, that would mean there would have to be people on this Earth that are over 2000 years old.

* When did power come? The first Pentacost after the resurrection of Jesus Christ... Acts 2:1-4; 7-8
The apostles received the power of God. They began to speak in the men's own language.
The church of Christ came into existence here in about A.D. 33

II.) Christ is on the throne right now and being exalted by the father... Acts 2:29-33
Jesus Christ is sitting at the right hand of God in the heavens.

* The church of Christ (kingdom) is not an earthly institution. It belongs to Christ... John 18:36

III.) If the kingdom is not here yet, then how can you be moved or translated into it... Colossians 1:12-13

* While John was in exile, he acknowledge being in the kingdom... Revelations 1:9

* We received a kingdom that cannot be shaken or moved... Hebrews 12:28-29
Our physical comfort should not get in the way of our faithfulness to God.

IV.) If there is no earth, where will Jesus reign? 2 Peter 3:10
We don't know when Jesus is coming. The heavens (first, second, third) shall pass away. The earth shall be burned up.
