It is written in Genesis 9:12-13, "And God said, This is the token of the covenant which I make between me and you and every living creature that is with you, for perpetual generations: I do set my bow in the cloud, and it shall be for a token of a covenant between me and the earth."

KEY TERMS:

• Token = sign; symbol; flag; mark
• Perpetual = on-going; never ends

KEY LESSON PRINCIPLES:

• Power, Promise and Preservation… Genesis 9:14-17

○ What is the agreement that God is making with man?
The waters shall no more become a flood to destroy all flesh (v. 15).

○ Rainbow was a token of this promise, yet man has corrupted this world. A rainbow flag is now representative of LGBTQ.

• Love is Love… 1 John 2:15-17
There are two types of love: worldly love and godly love.

○ Worldly love has no boundaries.

○ In the world, I like flexibility, freedom, I am what I am.

○ In the bible, the rainbow flag had nothing to do with Gay Pride.

○ Godly love is all about salvation (John 3:16-17).

• God created them male and female… Genesis 1:27; Genesis 5:2

○ Don't change or divide what God has set up (Matthew 19:4-6)

• God's Covenant… 2 Peter 3:3-7; 9-10

○ In these last days, people are living after the lust of the flesh, lust of the eyes, and the pride of life. This is all worldly love, which is not of God.

○ Mocking of Jesus second coming

○ Some people are willingly ignorant, denying the flood and work of the Lord.

• Be thankful; let your love be known… 2 Thessalonians 1:3-5

○ Don't let the coronavirus be the death of your faith. Our enduring faith in persecutions is a token, that you be counted worthy of the kingdom.

• God recognizes our faith… Hebrews 6:10-15

○ We naturally go to the flesh; we need to default to the Spirit

• Jesus Christ is confirmation that God kept his promises… Romans 15:8

○ The connection of Jesus and Abraham (Galatians 3:26-29)
