“Pray at All Times in the Spirit”
Ephesians 6:18-20
1. The battle is against the spiritual host of wickedness.

So what does he mean when he says,
“Pray at all times in the Spirit?
Jude 17-20
In the last times there will be scoffers following ungodly passions.
But you, build up yourselves in the most holy faith, pray in the Spirit.
3. To pray in the Spirit is to pray your prayers both inspired by and in the power, influence, and leading of the Holy Spirit.
A story from good advice in the past.
4. Praying in the Spirit is not religious activity or ritual prayer to be seen by others.
Matthew 6:1
Beware of practicing your righteousness before other people in order to be seen by them.
5. Praying in the Spirit is not repetition of religious sounding words.
Matthew 6:5-6
Hypocrites pray to be seen by others.
When you pray, go into your room and shut the door and pray to your Heavenly Father in secret.
6. Praying in the Spirit is not ritual prayers that are performed in order to invoke some magic power to get what we want.
Matthew 6:7-8
Do not heap up empty phrases as the Gentiles do, for they think that they will be heard for their many words.
7. Praying in the Spirit is a prayer of worship.
To pray in the Spirit is prayer to honor and worship God for who he is and express our relationship with him.
Matthew 6:9-12
8. Praying in the Spirit is prayer to let our needs be made known to God even though he already knows, we need to express our need so that we are aware when he answers our prayers for help.
Praying in the Spirit is a prayer of contrite confession.
Matthew 6:11-13
9. Praying in the Spirit is prayer that confesses our sins and also forgives others of their sins.
Matthew 6:14-15
10. Praying in the Spirit is prayer that expects and seeks blessing from God who cares for you and wants you to know and worship him.
As Jesus said to the woman at the well,
In John 4:21-23
The hour is coming when the true worshipers will worship the Father in Spirit and truth.
11. Praying in the Spirit allows us to tell God about our worries and anxieties with all prayer and supplication, but it also allows us to express faith through intercession and thanksgiving believing He is and will carry those burdens for us and others.
Philippians 4:6-7
1 Timothy 2:1
1. A prayer of faith (to the true living God).
2. It is a prayer that worships God for who He truly is.
3. It is a prayer expressing the truth found in God’s Word.
4. It is a prayer of thanksgiving.
5. It is a prayer of intercession for others.
6. It is a prayer that seeks righteousness and God’s kingdom.
7. It is a prayer that seeks for others to receive salvation according to the will of God.
Conclusions:
There is a spiritual battle being fought by Satan and his demons against God and all who worship him.
Jesus gives us power to stand against the attacks of the enemy.
To fight and stand against the enemy we must use the weapons of warfare that God provides for us.
Conclusions:
We must always pray in the Spirit.
The Holy Spirit helps us in our prayers.
Praying in the Spirit we make intercession, supplications, and thanksgiving for others.
Remember your prayers have power to change the world because the Lord is listening and answers prayers of faith.
