Sunday, 24th January, 2021 - Chinese Christian Church, Leicester
I was invited to speak on Hebrews 13: 22-25, the last 3 verses of the letter and I concentrated on the implication and application of the text. The first major point was that the verses were written against the backdrop of times and trouble and today, for the Christian, it also looks seems as dark clouds are gathering. We read that Timothy has been released and it implies that he was persecuted and imprisoned for his faith. The challenge to us is that how to consider how we would respond under persecution. Finally, what can we do to stand in solidarity with and support those who are suffering for their faith. Our reaction depends on our attitude to the Word of God, do we see it as a source of head knowledge or is it the Living Word which is totally relevant to us today in 2021 and when we trust in the Lord, we shall renew our strength.
Please continue to pray for Pastor Esther and the Chinese Christian Church, that even in these restricted times, they will be able to reach out to the Chinese Community of Leicester.
