Song # 1344.1 from Our Gospel In Song Collection by Col Johnston. Our world is filled with sin, and is becoming darker each day, but the light of Jesus is becoming brighter.
In his letter to the Romans, Paul writes in chapter 5:
Sin entered the world through one man, and death through sin, and in this way, death came to all men, because all had sinned (Romans 5:12). Before the law was given, sin was in the world. But sin is not taken into account when there is no law (Romans 5:13). Nevertheless, death reigned from the time of Adam to the time of Moses (Romans 5:14). But through the grace of God, His gift of one man, Jesus Christ, brought justification (Romans 5:15-16). By the sin of one man, Adam, death reigned. But those who receive God’s grace, and the gift of righteousness, will reign in life through one man, Jesus Christ (Romans 5:17). Though all men since Adam have been condemned through sin, righteousness through Christ brings life for all men (Romans 5:18). For just as through the disobedience of the one man the many were made sinners, so also through the obedience of the one man the many will be made righteous (Romans 5:19). So, just as sin reigned in death, so also grace might reign through righteousness to bring eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord (Romans 5:21).
Thought for today: when you follow Jesus, you’re on the righteous path.
Thought for the future: no matter where you turn in life, you can always turn to God. Where will you spend your eternity?
