Song # 1465.1 from Our Gospel In Song Collection by Col Johnston. Isaiah tells us in chapter 24 that on the day of the Lord’s judgement, the wicked will fall.
They raise their voices, they shout for joy, from the west they acclaim the Lord’s majesty (Isaiah 24:14). Therefore in the east give glory to the Lord, exalt the name of the Lord, the God of Israel (Isaiah 24:15). From the ends of the earth we hear singing “Glory to the Righteous One.” But with treachery the treacherous betray (Isaiah 24:16). Terror and pit await you, oh people of the earth (Isaiah 24:17). The floodgates of the heavens are opened, the foundations of the earth shake (Isaiah 24:18). The earth is broken up, split asunder and thoroughly shaken (Isaiah 24:19). So heavy upon it is the guilt of its rebellion that it falls, never to rise again (Isaiah 24:20). In that day the Lord will punish the powers in heaven above, and the kings on the earth below (Isaiah 24:21). They will be herded together like prisoners bound in a dungeon, they will be shut up in prison and be punished after many days (Isaiah 24:22).
Thought for today: leave the shadows of yesterday, for the light of today and the hope of tomorrow.
Thought for the future: Jesus knows the way, so follow Him for ever lasting life. Where will you spend your eternity?
