Song # 1622.1 from Our Gospel In Song Collection by Col Johnston. Paul wrote to the Philippians in the first Church he established on European soil, at Philippi in the Roman Province of Macedonia. Although Paul wrote his letter some 2,000 years ago, its message is still very relevant to us today.
Rejoice greatly in the Lord for you have been renewed (Philippians 4:10). Learn to be content, whatever the circumstances (Philippians 4:11). Know what it is to be in need, and know what it is to have plenty. Learn the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want (Philippians 4:12). Do everything through Christ, and He will give you strength (Philippians 4:13). And He will share in your troubles (Philippians 4:14). Understand the Gospel with giving and receiving (Philippians 4:15), and help those who you find in need (Philippians 4:16). For when you help others, the credit goes to your account (Philippians 4:17), and you’ll receive full payment and even more (Philippians 4:18). God will meet all your needs according to His glorious riches in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:19). To our God and Father be glory for ever and ever (Philippians 4:20).
Thought for today: a place is set in heaven for those who trust in Jesus.
Thought for the future: it’s never too late to start anew. Where will you spend your eternity?
