Song # 1642.1 from Our Gospel In Song Collection by Col Johnston. In the Book of Revelation, John tells us in chapter 20 that the dead are brought before the Lord for judgement. Those whose name does not appear in the Book of Life are thrown into the lake of fire.
Then I saw a great white throne and Him who was seated on it. Earth and sky fled from His presence, and there was no place for them (Revelation 20:11). And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne, and books were opened. Another book was opened, which is the Book of Life. The dead were judged according to what they had done as recorded in the books (Revelation 20:12). The sea gave up the dead that were in it, and death and Hades gave up the dead that were in them, and each person was judged according to what he had done (Revelation 20:13). Then death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. The lake of fire is the second death (Revelation 20:14). If anyone’s name was not found written in the Book of Life, he was thrown into the lake of fire (Revelation 20:15).
Thought for today: trust in God today, and prepare for your tomorrow.
Thought for the future: to be in heaven tomorrow, you need God in your heart today. Where will you spend your eternity?
