Song # 1753.1 from Our Gospel In Song Collection by Col Johnston. In the Book of Judges we read in chapter 2 about the Angel of the Lord, and what he said to the Israelites at Bokim.
The Angel of the Lord went up from Gilgal to Bokim and said to the Israelites “I brought you up out of Egypt and led you into the land that I swore to give to your forefathers. I said ‘I will never break my covenant with you’” (Judges 2:1), “‘and you shall not make a covenant with the people of this land, but you will break down their altars.’ Yet you disobeyed me. Why have you done this?” (Judges 2:2). “Now therefore I tell you that I will not drive them out before you, they will be thorns in your sides and their gods will be a snare to you” (Judges 2:3). When the Angel of the Lord had spoken these things to the Israelites, the people wept aloud (Judges 2:4), and they called that place Bokim (Judges 2:5).
Thought for today: God’s help is only a prayer away.
Thought for the future: eyes of faith see God’s work. Where will you spend your eternity?
