#196 -- Revelation 7:2,3 -- God Is In Control

In this message we hear that God is in complete control of everything and everything goes by HIS timetable. An important doctrine explained: We do not receive the Holy Spirit by seeking; He indwells believers at the moment of Salvation by God's promise. Ephesians 1:12,13 and Ephesians 4:30.
During the Tribulation Period, after the Seal Judgments have run their course, everything stops for the next event on God's prophetic timetable. God sends an angel from the east to provide His seal of protection to the 144,000 Jewish evangelists who preach the Gospel during the last half of the Tribulation Period. Who are the 144,000? The Scripture makes this clear. They are 144,000 unmarried, Jewish men, 12,000 from each tribe of the nation of Israel; and are only mentioned in Revelation 7:1-8 and 14:1-5. Remember: men, unmarried, and a Jew from one of the 12 tribes given in the Book of Revelation. This contradicts the doctrine of the Jehovah's Witness organization that only 144,000 are going to Heaven and the rest will inherit the earth.
The origin of the 12 tribes is explained clearly. God knows who they are and has a specific time when their identities will be known, and He will give them a specific service to do for Him. They will be saved AFTER the Rapture, as the Two Witnesses are preaching the Gospel during the first 3 and ½ years of the Tribulation. We reiterate: this is a parenthetical section where God interrupts the chronology to explain a side event. It is a wave of truth which takes us past the mid-point of the 7-year Tribulation Period.
The division of the nation of Israel is explained. As the northern ten tribes were carried into captivity before the southern kingdom of Judah; therefore, they are referred to as "the lost 10 tribes. Since all records were kept in the Temple in Jerusalem, after Titus sacked Jerusalem in 70 A.D. no Jewish person can trace his tribal ancestry. "British Israelism" is a false doctrine of the World-Wide Church of Tomorrow, founded by Herbert W. Armstrong, and other organizations. This belief teaches that the northern 10 tribes migrated through Europe into Great Britain and that is where they are today. God clearly states in Scripture that he brings them back from the "nations" -- plural, not just Great Britain.
