"Mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days. 2 People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, 3 without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, 4 treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God— 5 having a form of godliness but denying its power. Have nothing to do with such people. 6 They are the kind who worm their way into homes and gain control over gullible women, who are loaded down with sins and are swayed by all kinds of evil desires, 7 always learning but never able to come to a knowledge of the truth. 8 Just as Jannes and Jambres opposed Moses, so also these teachers oppose the truth. They are men of depraved minds, who, as far as the faith is concerned, are rejected. 9 But they will not get very far because, as in the case of those men, their folly will be clear to everyone". 2 Timothy 3:1-9
Are we not living in terrible times and the last days now? There are many people who love themselves more than loving there neighbor. Seems like when I need help for food, to fix my home, and even to fix my fiancee/wifes eyeglasses, people look at me or say that they will pray about it or they think I am overspending and need to get rid of our cell phones, TV, and internet. I like watching INSP, GMC Network, Hallmark, RFDTV, Angel, Daystar, CMT, SYFY, History, Food, Weather Channel, FOX News, and FOX 8 out of Cleveland. The problem is, YOU CANT GET THEM WITH AN ANTENNA. You have to have Digital Cable or Satellite in orter to get the showes I like to watch.
There are many who love there jobs and love working in order to have money than to love there neighbor. Jesus never said that we are to love money or to love our work more than to love God or our neighbor. This is a cop out if I ever heard one not to do what God has said we are to do. Jesus said that if you have love for one another than that proves that you are my disciples.
Are you a true disciple of Jesus Christ? Do you have the selfless love that Jesus demands you to have? Or do you have a self-centered love that the world is saying you should have?
