We live in an area of the world that is abundantly beautiful. Geographically, we enjoy the beauty and recreational opportunities of the Coastal Mountains, and the Pacific Ocean moderates our climate throughout the year. However, the defining geographical characteristic of this region is the Fraser River.

Rivers are essential for human flourishing. They give life and opportunity. Rivers shape the land for agriculture and trade. Without them, populations are vulnerable to weather and limited movement. Our Fraser River is the key to the prosperity of life in the Lower Mainland, and we would be foolish to think that our ingenuity and ambition are the source of our comfortable lives.

Jerusalem did, and does not, boast the same situation. Jerusalem was built in the Judean mountains, so that it could be easily defended. It's location is far from the ocean and large flood plains of wide rivers. Furthermore, it lies on the edge of the Judean desert. Access to water has always been a challenge, and the people of this city recognized their need for God’s provision. Welcome to Home Church Langley!
