This Sunday the sermon will be from Matthew 18:7-9 – “Mortification of Sin”.



“…if your eye causes you to sin, tear it out and throw it away…”

Does Christ get your attention with this verse? The image he sets forth is riveting and unforgettable. Christ stresses to us with vivid language the seriousness of sin. And, he calls upon us to use drastic measures in “putting to death the deeds of the body.” (Romans 8:12) Don’t show up at church this Sunday missing a hand or minus one of your eyes! But, do show up with an open Bible and a prayerful disposition asking God to help you flee from sin and pursue a life of holiness (Hebrews 12:14).
