Song # 2330 from Our Gospel In Song Collection by Col Johnston. In Genesis chapter 17 we read that God changes Abram’s name to Abraham, the father of many nations.
When Abram was ninety-nine years old, the Lord appeared to him and said “I am God Almighty; walk before me and be blameless” (Genesis 17:1). “I will confirm my covenant between me and you and will greatly increase your numbers” (Genesis 17:2). Abram fell face down, and God said to him (Genesis 17:3). “As for me, this is my covenant with you: you will be the father of many nations” (Genesis 17:4). “No longer will you be called Abram, your name will be Abraham, for I have made you a father of many nations” (Genesis 17:5). “I will make you very fruitful; I will make nations of you, and kings will come from you” (Genesis 17:6). “I will establish my covenant as an everlasting covenant between me and you and your descendants after you for the generations to come, to be your God and the God of your descendants after you” (Genesis 17:7).
Thought for today: let God’s word fill your mind, rule your heart, and lead your way.
Thought for the future: now is the time to invest in heaven. Where will you spend your eternity?
