1. If You Know the Relationship Would Be Biblical

If there is anything about this relationship that would cause you to disobey the clear commands in the Bible, God is not telling you to date this person. Jesus said in John 14:15, “If you love me, you will keep my commandments.”

2. If You Know You Want to Date this Person, This Could Be a Sign that God Is Telling You to Date This Person

Romance leading to marriage is a biblical option in the Bible (1 Corinthians 7:36). Not a biblical command. If you don’t want to date this person, God will not force you to.

3. If You Know It Is Likely that This Person Is Interested in You Too

Again, romance is an option. Just as God will not force you to date someone, God will not force someone else either. It has to be mutual for it to be biblical.
